Check the Wire – Week 12

The good news, Week 12 will be the 1st since Week 3 with no teams on bye. The bad news, several key guys went down in Week 11, and some of us could potentially be stuck with rest of season byes (Please come back soon A.J).

Luckily, there’s still some quality waiver wire options out there in a majority of leagues…

Running Back
Chris Ivory – JAC

No, he doesn’t have the most favorable schedule going forward, but if T.J. Yeldon is forced to miss time, Ivory will be in line for a huge workload.

Mike Gillislee – BUF

Like Ivory, if McCoy has to miss time, the backfield is his.

Wendell Smallwood – PHI

Sproles, and Mathews both went down Sunday, possibly opening the door for Smallwood in a good matchup with GB.

Kenneth Dixon – BAL

Terrence West is the lead back, but Dixon looks like the better runner to me. He’s one of the best stash/handcuff options available.

Wide Receiver
Rishard Matthews – TEN

I’m going to continue to write about Matthews. He’s owned in only 60.2% of ESPN.com fantasy leagues, but should be owned in all leagues. Specifically PPR leagues, where he has double digit points in 7 of the last 8 games.

Jamison Crowder – WAS

I’m going to continue to write about Crowder. He’s owned in only 62.4% of ESPN.com fantasy leagues, but should be owned in all leagues. Specifically PPR leagues, where he has double digit points in 9 of 10 games.

Tyler Boyd – CIN

A.J. Green could be out done the season, and someone has to see an increase in production. If I had to choose, it’s Boyd over LaFell. But personally, I’m not overly excited about either option.

Tight End
C.J. Fiedorowicz – HOU

Fiedorowicz has been a key cog in this offense, Osweiler seems allergic to throwing the ball downfield, and his schedule is extremely cake-ish down the stretch.

Logan Paulsen – CHI

Zach Miller broke his foot, so Paulsen will be next up. He showed some flashes of goodness in his tenure with the ‘Skins, but I don’t expect much of anything from him. Just felt like he should be listed. *shrug*

Defense/Special Teams
New Orleans Saints

I’ll admit, the Rams offense looked better with Goff… At times. However, he took about 1.5 shots downfield, the play calling was beyond conservative, and the Superdome isn’t exactly an ideal choice for his first career road start.
