No time to waste, so let’s jump right into it…
*Tier 1: $8,000+, Tier 2: $8,000 – $6,000, Tier 3: $6,000 – $4,000, Tier 4: Under $4,000
Tier 1: James Harden – HOU @ SA ($11,500)
Yes, the Spurs rank 1st in defensive efficiency, have the 5th slowest PACE rating (96.77), and are allowing the 2nd fewest points per game (98.2). In fact, in the Rockets 3 matchups against the Spurs this season, they’ve put up 3 of their lowest point totals: 101, 100, and 100. Excluding the 3 games against SA, the Rockets have scored 101 points or fewer in only 7 of their 60 games. That’s about 12%, or a 53-7 record scoring more than 101 points vs. everyone else.
Translation: the Rockets get buckets against damn near every team… Except the Spurs.
Don’t be fooled. James Harden has been doing his thing against them. In those three matchups, he’s triple-doubled twice, and is averaging a mere 26.7 points to go with 11.7 assists, and 11 rebounds. If you haven’t noticed, he’s matchup proof.
Tier 2: Ricky Rubio – MIN vs. POR ($6,700)
Don’t overreact to Rubio’s triple-double Saturday night, as it was his 1st of the season, but he does have 8 double-digit assist performances in the Wolves 12 games since LaVine went down. Don’t overlook that part.
Yeah, his shot is still on JV status, but he’s good for a double-double. He’s tied for 4th amongst PGs with 14 on the season.
Tier 3: Gary Harris – DEN vs. SAC ($5,200)
Saturday’s 0-1, 0 point, 1 assist, 1 steal performance was an outlier. I’m not abandoning ship yet. Not in this matchup at least.
31.4% of the points the Kings have allowed this season have come from the 3 ball (only the Hawks, and Hornets allow more), Harris currently sits 13th in the league in 3P% at 42%, and should see his typical 10+ shot attempts. Sounds like a good spot for him to bounce back.
Tier 4: E’Twaun Moore – NO @ UTH ($3,600)
Not the greatest matchup, but Moore has seen an average of 29 minutes since the all-star break, and has been playing aiiigghhhht-ish. He’s cost-friendly, and definitely worth a flyer.
Tier 1: $8,000+, Tier 2: $8,000 – $6,000, Tier 3: $6,000 – $4,000, Tier 4: Under $4,000
Tier 1: Karl-Anthony Towns – MIN vs. POR ($10,300)
The kid is nice, and Portland’s frontcourt play has been abysmal. Although, Nurkic has been balling. The 2 MVP frontrunners, James Harden and Russell Westbrook, have 49 and 47 double-doubles on the season, respectively. Towns is tied with Russ for 2nd at 47. He’ll sit alone in 2nd after tonight.

Tier 2: Andrew Wiggins – MIN vs. POR ($7,600)
Wiggins put up 17 points on Saturday in San Antonio, which was his 1st less than 20 point scoring effort since January 17th, which also happened to come against the Spurs. In other words, Wiggins has scored 20+ points in 19 straight games against teams who are not named the Spurs.
In a matchup against Portland (who doesn’t have that Kawhi Leonard guy), and in a game which features 4th highest opening point total of the night – 215.5 – you can expect Wiggins to light up the boards yet again.
Tier 3: Tobias Harris – DET vs. CHI ($5,500)
I know, I know, I mention him every time, but I promise I don’t have a secret love affair with Mr. Harris. He just balls out. A solid matchup against an injured, and suddenly highly inexperienced Bulls team doesn’t hurt much either.
Tier 4: Glenn Robinson III – IND @ CHA ($3,000)
First, he took home the slam dunk championship. Yesterday, he hit the game-winner against Atlanta… Mini Big Dog’s confidence level is currently on sky high. The ceiling is not the roof. He’s seen a slight uptick in minutes as well, and at $3,000, he’s a reasonably high-floored flyer.
Tier 1: $7,500+, Tier 2: $7,500-$6,000, Tier 3: Under $6,000
Tier 1: Nikola Jokic – DEN vs. SAC ($10,100)
The Joker has been arguably the best big in the game in 2017, and has quickly ascended into must-start territory. He is questionable with an illness, however, so keep an eye on his status.
Tier 2: Kristaps Porzingis – NY @ ORL ($6,900)
KP is averaging 20.7 ppg, and 10.3 rpg over the Knicks last 3, and gets a Magic team facing a thin frontcourt without starting Center Nikola Vucevic. The Knicks will also be void a starter, as Carmelo Anthony will sit this one out, meaning more looks for Porzingis… I hope.
Tier 3: Richaun Holmes – PHI vs. MIL ($5,200)
Holmes has put up double-digit points in 4 straight games, Okafor is out with a knee injury, Embiid is done for the year, and Noel is in Dallas. I like it.
