I’m usually not one to brag, buuuuut I kinda nailed every call last night. Every. Single. One. And while I did grab some low hanging fruit, I also have a new found affinity for the Jonas Brothers. Wait, their last name is Jonas… Right? Who knows. Moving on to the Ballers and Bums for 1/10 – recapping my DraftKings Starts of the Night, and confirming the fact that following my advice is a good idea… Most of the time.
C.J. McCollum: 25 pts (2 3PM), 1 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl – 36.75 DK FPTS
Another game, another 20 point performance for McCollum – making 9 straight games, and 7 straight in which he’s scored at least 25… Balling.
Bradley Beal: 19 pts (3 3PM), 4 reb, 3 ast – 28.00 DK FPTS
This wasn’t Beal’s best game by any stretch, and his 4 turnovers match his 2nd highest on the season. But, the good news is he played 37 minutes – meaning his sprained ankle really wasn’t that serious – and he did just enough from deep, and on the boards, to flirt with 30 DraftKings fantasy points and justify the $6,400 price.
Malcolm Brogdon: 17 pts (3 3PM), 6 reb, 6 ast, 1 blk – 36.50 DK FPTS
Joel Embiid pretty much has Rookie of the Year on lock, but Brogdon is trying to give him a run for his money. Maybe I was sleeping, but I really don’t remember him being this nice at UVA… I’m woke now.
Marco Belinelli: 15 pts (3 3PM), 3 reb, 6 ast – 27.75 DK FPTS
At the half, it looked like Belinelli was going to be a horrible call – he had almost as many turnovers (3) as he had points (5). Thankfully, the Hornets – down 20 at half – decided to come out of the locker room.
Kevin Durant: 28 pts (3 3PM), 8 reb, 1 stl, 2 blk – 44.50 DK FPTS
Come on KD… You’re not Kobe. Let’s get a few assists, big fella.
Jabari Parker: 22 pts (2 3PM), 7 reb, 3 ast, 1 stl – 38.25 DK FPTS
Jabari was my start of the night, and while he didn’t finish as the leading DraftKings scorer, he continues to impress…
Tim Hardaway Jr: 9 PTS (1 3PM), 2 reb, 4 ast, 1 stl, 2 blk – 24.00 DK FPTS
He only put up 9 points – his lowest point total of 2017 – but a few rebounds, assists, and blocks will get the job done. Nice value at $4,600.
Andre Igoudala: 9 PTS (1 3PM), 5 reb, 4 ast – 21.75 DK FPTS
He only put up 9 points – he hasn’t scored in double-figures since the 28th of December – but a few rebounds, and assists will get the job done. Nice value at $3,600. My creativity is at an all-time high right now.
Dwight Howard: 14 pts, 16 reb, 1 blk – 36.50 DK FPTS
I expected him to flirt with a 20/20 game – he gave her a sly smile, and a little wink. You know what though? He may have even bought her a drink, and introduced himself. But, he just didn’t have enough game to close the deal… Sometimes, you just have to lay the groundwork.
Rudy Gobert: 11 pts, 14 reb, 1 ast, 3 stl, 1 blk – 37.00 DK FPTS
Yet another double-double for Mr. Gobert. He may just be the most underrated big in the league.
*DraftKings Baller of the Night*
Jonas Valanciunas: 18 pts, 23 reb, 2 blk – 50.75 DK FPTS
JV dominated the undersized Celtics in the 2nd half, he surpassed his season rebounding average with offensive boards alone, ended the night with a career-high 23 boards, and was the catalyst in the Raptors comeback victory; I’m a Valieber.
